Paula and Alex's MARV series
As well as picture books, Paula has illustrated 5 books in the MARV series so far. Written by Alex Falase-Koya, the series follows Marvin as he encounters various dangers and becomes superhero MARV, saving the day with his robot sidekick Pixel.
Paula has won the Lancashire School Library Service Brilliant Book Award 2023 for Marv and the Mega Robot, and Marv and the Ultimate Superpower was a World Book Day book in 2024.
On Sunday, Alex and Paula ran a workshop in relation to their hit superhero series MARV.
In the workshop they hosted an interactive quiz for the attendees to show off their super brains, and everyone had their pens and paper at the ready as Pula ran a draw-along session where she taught the children how to draw Pixel, MARV's super-intelligent robot sidekick!
They also discussed what makes you unique and what your own superpowers would be, after which everyone was given the chance to design their very own super-suit for their heroic alter-egos!
Paula is an award-winning author-illustrator. She has written and illustrated numerous picture books, including Bear's Wild Home, and Tidy Crab is a Tidy Crab which won the Portsmouth Picture Book Award 2023.
She has illustrated many wonderful picture books for a variety of authors, including Lucy Rowland, Pip Jones, and well-known actor Isla Fisher for her Maizy The Movie Star picture book series.
She also illustrated the hilarious Poonami book series written by celebrity couple Chris and Rosie Ramsey- the first book of which, There’s a Poonami in My House!, was shortlisted for The Bookseller’s British Book Awards! There’s a Poonami at Christmas was published at the end of last year.
