I studied art at the Southampton Institute (Scientific and Technical Illustration). Realising that drawing cadavers and nuts and bolts was not really for me, I spent most of my time in the foundation department where I found that illustration was really what I loved.

I then went on to study illustration at Swindon Art School where I joined the first year of a pure illustration course they had started. I was a runner up in the Readers Digest young illustrator of the year competition...... left college and worked for 6months as a display artist for Habitat, and then managed to secure my first freelance work whcih enabled me never to have to work again as a permanent employee...hurrah! My favorite things are dressing up, eating children's party food, playing with my daughter, making 'things', picnics, walking with either my daughter or Noodle our poodle or both, collecting 'bits' from the beach near us.
