My name is Paula Pérez i de Lanuza but as an illustrator I'm known as Paulapé.

I was born in València in 1984 and I graduated in Fine Arts and specialized in stop motion animation. I've been illustrating posters, books, advertising and press since 2007. I love combining different kinds of work in my day to day, as I feel every different imput is nourishing to the other fields of work.

What I enjoy the most about my work is the colouring phase: I can spend hours in delight with the different colour schemes and details (especially when it comes to fabric patterns). My style has been greatly impacted by the screen printing work process and I love using limited colour palettes so I can play with the mix of the layers of ink.Bringing diverse characters to live is one of my main goals, as I believe in the social and political responsibility of illustrators as comunicators. Some of my selected clients are Retina Magazine (El País), Santillana Educación, Editorial Bromera, Tàndem edicions o la Generalitat Valenciana.

Besides illustrating, I'm the codirector of BABA KAMO – Illustrated Book Festival and Fair and I've codirected Associació de Professionals de la Il·lustració Valenciana for six years. I'm also a teacher in Illustrator Rights at the Barreira Arte Professional Illustration Master.
