Paula Franco
Paula Franco is a children's book illustrator living in Argentina. Being Latin American of European descent, she has always been drawn to vivid and colourful images, intricate patterns, textures, details, and fun characters that are full of life.
She takes inspiration from the world around us, but likes to infuse aspects of magic into her work. Paula has illustrated almost 100 published children's books. Some have been adapted for television, and have even won awards and become bestsellers. She'd love to have a Secret Garden or live in a place like Green Gables, and is a keen gardener, and explorer. She is aware of our environmental impact on the planet, she is a vegetarian, and tries to live a low waste, simple life. Paula is a huge animal lover, who likes nothing better than rescuing, rehabilitating, and rehoming. Sometimes she even gets to keep them! Her current noisy home-studio office assistants are four lovely mixed-breed dogs, one cute cat... and her dear husband!
In her spare time, Paula enjoys playing the ukulele, learning languages (on top of Spanish, English and Italian), playing old videogames, and watching Ghibli films.
