I guess I've not really grown up much, I'm just larger and grumpier. Talking of large and grumpy, well growly, one of my absolute favourite books when I was a child was 'The Large and Growly Bear', written by Gertrude Crampton with wonderful illustrations by John P Miller. I also cherished 'The Children's Treasury of Literature in Colour', published by Hamlyn, which contained several of Mr Miller's illustrations. I think he, more than any other illustrator, has influenced the way that I work. All my colour work is done on the computer, but using textures that mimic brush work, stencils and cut paper. I like to use dip pen for drawings. I am represented by Plum Pudding Illustration.
