Lucy Boden
I was born and grew up in the small town of Cirencester, where I was surrounded by beautiful countryside and wildlife, which has had a huge influence on my work.
I always dreamed of becoming an illustrator when I was younger and I still can’t believe I am finally pursuing my dream! I graduated from University College Falmouth in 2009 with a BA (Hons) degree in Illustration. From there I exhibited my work at the New Designers exhibition in London and began my career as a freelance illustrator. I am currently living and working in Gloucestershire with the aim of moving to Bristol in the next few years. I live with several cats and a naughty jack russell who supply endless amounts of inspiration and fun!
My work is created in gouache using bright, clean colours. I love to draw animals and creating little communities of animals from which I can create narratives. I enjoy illustrating for a child's audience and think that getting to create images for picture books is possibly the best job in world!
