Isobel Lundie
I am a children’s book illustrator living in Worthing with my boyfriend Zulf and cocker Spaniel and occasional crocodile Roo.
I absolutely love what I do and especially love the beginning of projects when I can let my imagination go and create the characters and the worlds they live in. I have been lucky enough to work in the word of children’s publishing for the last 7 years and have had a lot of fun meeting all the talented writers, designers and editors who I get to work with.
To create my artwork I often start by making a really loose thumbnail which I work over and over until it resembles a big mess. Once I have drawn a suitable amount of chaos in, I transfer my drawing to a lightbox and draw in the bits I need to keep. After several rounds I get something neat enough to colour up. I have a special interest in creating humourous illustrations and love making little stories within the background so children have lots of things they can spot.
