Apart from being the mum of a little kid, Mateo, who loves going to school on Mondays, Iris Amaya is a drawing magician who invites the reader to experience her juggles: What can be hidden behind a handkerchief, an original cloud or a coloured stain?
Her illustrations are a magic way to foster children imagination since they are plenty of subtle details that create parallel stories to the main plot.
She is based in Spain and focused especially on children market. She is interested in developing expressiveness and creating characters who make the reader finding out surprising details, mixing up fresh evocations and a bit of tenderness and irony, just similar to the way children experience life.
She uses colour adding a cool touch to every illustration just for making them as unique as the little reader point of view.
